The marine structure of Grain and General Cargo Terminal (Terminal B) at Nansha Port, Guangzhou, undertaken and completed by CCCC-FHEC passed the hand-over inspection for acceptance on December 30th, 2011.
The project is located in Longxuedao Reclamation Area, Nansha, Guangzhou, including a 255m long general-purpose berth for 70 000DWT ships, a 220m long grain unloading berth for 70 000DWT ships and a 100m long grain unloading berth for 100 000DWT ships. The berths were built of caisson type gravity structure, composed of 33 caissons.
The project is one of the key Food Logistics Development Planning Projects by the National Development and Reform Commission as well as a key project in Guangdong Province. It is expected to be the largest grain transfer, storage and process base in Southeast China. The successful hand-over after completion inspection will create active drive for further expanding domestic needs and grain industry development in Southeast China. (Wang Xiaodong)
