CCCC First Harbor Engineering Company (CCCC-FHEC), established on Nov. 12, 1945, is a subsidiary controlled by China Communications Construction Company listed in Fortune Global 500. CCCC-FHEC is the first and largest port building company of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and hailed as the Cradle for Harbor Builders.

 

CCCC-FHEC has 23 subsidiaries, 34 branches and business units, 1 education and training center, not only in Tianjin, but also in cities in both northern and southern China, including Qingdao, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou and Hong Kong, with around 11,000 long-term employees, 140 engineering vessels,  5762 sets of construction  machinery and a total assets of 88.9 billion CNY. 

CCCC-FHEC has obtained 5 special-class certificates, 30 first-class certificates for EPC projects, and 35 first-class certificates for projects of different disciplines, with business scope covering investment in infrastructures, construction of ports, waterways, sea-crossing links, offshore and deep-sea works, shipbuilding docks and slipways, highways, bridges, rail transit systems, erection and installation of large-scale complete equipment and machinery, construction of industrial and civil buildings, municipal works, water environment improvement as well as other large- and medium-sized projects. 

 

CCCC-FHEC has built a series of national landmark projects, including China Shenhua Huanghua Ports, Works for Improving Deep-water Waterways at Yangtze River Estuary, Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link, and constructed overseas projects including Friendship Dock in Mauritania, Port of Bata in Equatorial Guinea, Mombasa-Nairobi Railway and East Coast Rail Link in Malaysia, creating numerous domestic and global Firsts & Bests and set multiple records in marine engineering and bridge construction.

 

CCCC-FHEC has cumulatively constructed 1,929 berths including 1,046 deep-water berths of 10,000 DWT or above, 51 shipyards and slipways, 3,776 kilometers of highways and bridges, and 934 track kilometers of completed and ongoing railway projects. Its operations span over 30 provincial-level regions across China and more than 40 countries and regions across Asia, Africa, Europe, Oceania, Latin America and Antarctica.

 

As of the end of 2024, CCCC-FHEC has acquired 77 National High Quality Engineering Awards, 26 China National Engineering Luban Prizes, China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Prizes for 31 projects for 15 consecutive years, 9 Golden Trophies for China Municipal Works, 358 prizes and awards for provincial and ministry-level high quality  projects, 298 national and ministry-level Awards for Progress in Science and Technology, 3,607 national patents, 1 Golden Award for National Patents, 67 worldwide leading technological achievements, 163 globally advanced achievements. 2 projects has been listed in the Landmark Projects for the 70th Anniversary of the PRC's Founding. 8 projects has been rated as one of the Landmark Project for the 60th Anniversary of the PRC's Founding, 8 projects as one of the hundred Landmark and Excellent Projects, 10 National Awards for Innovation in Modern Enterprise Management. All these honors highlight CCCC-FHEC’s strong management capacity and comprehensive strength.
