Recently, the construction of a beacon system for a two-way waterway for 50000DWT vessels starts in Shenhua Huanghua Port.

The project consists of 10 front and rear navigational marks and the superstructure of the beacons is a steel structure of wind power tower type with tower heights varying from 33m to 81m, which is the first of its type in China, and takes the lead in similar projects in China. Comparing with traditional derrick type beacons, the wind power tower type beacons have a beautiful shape and appearance. The beacons can be installed fast but require high accuracy in foundation construction with patented pre-embedded pre-stressed anchorage system. (Wang Xiaodong)
