Official Launch of Largest Offshore Riprap Leveling Barge in the World

An offshore riprap leveling barge with a self-jacking platform, Jinping No.1, which is the largest of its type in the world built with the investment of CCCC-FHEC, was officially launched on March 15th, 2012 and will be one of the first core equipment and machinery to be deployed for the Man-made Island and Tunneling Project for Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macao Bridge.

Jinping No.1 is an offshore riprap leveling barge with a modeled length of 81.8m modeled breadth of 46m, modeled depth of 5.5m, and a design draft of 4m. The leveling barge can be jacked up and down through four 90m-long spuds, thus achieving a leveling depth of 50m below the water level. The maximum thickness of a single layer of riprapped rocks to be placed and leveled by the barge can be as thick as 1.7m with a leveling accuracy within 40mm.

With further fitting out and testing, Jinping No.1, the largest offshore riprap leveling barge with a self-jacking platform in the world, will sail to Zhuhai on April 30th, 2012 to be commissioned for the Man-made Island and Tunneling Project for Hong Kong – Zhuhai – Macao Bridge.
