Beizhan Subway Station on Line 3 of Tianjin Subway Completed by CCCC FHEC

Beizhan Subway Station on Line 3 of Tianjin Subway was recently completed by CCCC-FHEC.

The subway station is an important subway transport junction to facilitate passengers to transfer from Line 3 to Line 6 and Tianjin Railway Station.

Open-cut method was adopted for the excavation of the foundation pit for the subway station, which has a main structure of two underground floors to house the island-platform subway station (with three floors at one location).The third underground floor is reserved for future interchange between Line 3 and Line 6.

The metro station totals 197 m long and 20.5 m wide at the standard section with four exits and two ventilation ducts.

The geological conditions at the project site are very complex and, with the foundation pit lying just 7.8 m from the office building of the Third Railway Survey & Design Institute, stringent technological requirements had to be met. Various difficulties were overcome during the construction of the interchange for Subway Line No. 6 which had a excavation of 25.4 m deep and was obliquely crossed with Line 3 by 59º.

The CCCC-FHEC staff and workers have overcome various difficulties encountered during the execution of the project and successfully completed the project as required.()
